SampoMedia founder Michael Gubbins will be hosting debates at the inaugural Next Pavilion of the Marché Du Film.

The four sessions are:

Thursday, May 15: Keynote Q&A sessions with Eamonn Bowles, President and founder of Magnolia Pictures and Magnolia Releasing; and Phillip Knatchbull, CEO of Curzon World.

Monday, May 19: Working The Crowds: Panel discussion about crowdfunding with speakers: Nicolas Bailly (Founder and CEO, Touscoprod), Yves Jeanneau (Director, Sunny Side of the Doc), Mathieu Maire du Poset (Deputy Managing Director, Ulule)

Tuesday, May 20Putting the Demand in Video On Demand:  Panel discussion about creating demand and awareness of independent films to exploit emerging VOD platforms and business models. With Laurin Dietrich (Partner, WOLF Consultants), Sam Toles (Vice-President, Content Acquisitions and Business Development, Vimeo), Nicola Allieta (VOD Manager, Under The Milky Way).

Wednesday, May 21People-Powered Cinema: Panel debate about the potential for CInema On Demand, event screenings and interactive theatrical services. With Soleil Nathwani (Partner, Gathr Films), Tom Dercourt (Founder & CEO, La Septième Salle), Marieke Jonker (CEO, We Want Cinema), Pierre Nicolas Combe (Founder & CEO, ILikeCinema)

“Next is recognition by the Marché that new forms of audience-centred and demand-driven distribution are now rapidly entering the mainstream of the film market,” said Gubbins.
